Detroit March and Rally:
10 AM – Gather at Patton Park, Vernor Highway and Woodmere, Detroit
11 AM – March to Clark Park along Vernor Highway
12 NOON – Rally at Clark Park (Clark and Vernor)On May 1st thousands of immigrants and their supporters will come out to fight for immigrant rights just like last year. In 2006, our movement stopped the Sensenbrenner bill. This year we must go back to the streets so we can put an end to the raids and deportations and to continue to fight for legalization and worker rights for all! We have a chance to win a fair and pro-immigrant comprehensive immigration reform but only if we go back to the streets! The call for the Great American Boycott II was agreed upon at a national conference in Los Angeles on Feb. 3 initiated by the March 25 coalition. At the conference, the “May Day National Coalition” was formed and is organizing to build a national movement to fight for immigrant and worker rights. This movement will take place on May 1st 2007 and will be launched in the entire country, Mexico and Latin America. More than 100 major organizations and coalitions on both sides of the Mexico/US border will participate.
