Socialist Party of Michigan: Socialist Party of Michigan (Re-Scheduled) 2009 State Convention - Sat. November 7th @ the Leland Hotel in Detroit

Following the SPMI state membership meeting vote to postpone this year’s State Convention from its originally scheduled date of Saturday August 8th, the re-scheduled 2009 State Convention of the Socialist Party of Michigan will be held Saturday November 7th in the main lobby of the Leland Hotel in Detroit. The State Convention is the highest ranking body of the Socialist Party of Michigan and is empowered to amend the SPMI State By-Laws and State Platform, adopt, amend, or repeal State Convention resolutions, and elect the SPMI State Executive Committee. Attendance at this year's State Convention is free and open to the public and anyone interested is encouraged to attend.

The State Convention will begin at 10AM and last until 6PM. The Leland Hotel is located at: 400 Bagley St. Detroit, MI 48226. It is the large twenty-story building located directly at the intersection of Cass Ave. and Bagley St. Parking is available for $3.00 in the Leland Hotel parking lot adjacent to the building on Bagley St., as well as at meter spaces on surrounding streets. The full State Convention will be held at the chairs and couches in the main lobby located directly up the stairway from the main front entrance of the building...

DIRECTIONS TO THE LELAND HOTEL:
-From Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti: Take M-14/I-96 East to I-75 North. Take exit 50 toward Grand River Ave. Turn right on 3rd St. Turn left on Bagley St. The Leland will be on your left.
-From Battle Creek/Jackson: Take I-94 East/US-127 South toward Ann Arbor. Take exit 215A to merge onto M-10 South. Take the Bagley Ave. exit on the left and merge onto Bagley St. The Leland will be on your left.
-From Grand Rapids/Lansing: Take I-96 East to the I-696 East exit on the left toward Grand River Ave/Port Huron/M-5. Take exit 8 to merge onto M-10 South toward Telegraph Rd./US-24/Lodge Fwy. Take the Bagley Ave. exit on the left. Merge onto Bagley St. The Leland will be on your left.
-From Kalamazoo: Take I-94 East to merge onto MI-14 East. Take M-14 East to merge onto I-96 East. Take the exit on the left onto I-75 North. Take exit 50 toward Grand River Ave. Merge onto W. Fisher Fwy. Turn right at Grand River Ave. Turn right at Cass Ave. The Leland will be on your right.
-From Northern Michigan: Take I-75 South to exit 50 toward Grand River Ave. Take the 1st left onto Grand River Ave. Turn slight right onto Cass Ave. The Leland will be on your right.
